Software
The lunaSolutions PrePay host design is based upon the J2EE base solution architecture specification deploying Java, Enterprise JavaBeans, Java ServerPages, XML and XSLT specifications. The HTTP server used in the lunaSolutions PrePay system, is the Apache Server which is shipped with IBM's WebSphere Application Server version 4. The Apache HTTP server is the most popular server on the Web.

Hardware
The PrePay solution is hosted on host on the IBM pSeries 610 UNIX server with 2GB of RAM and a dual
CPU for increased overall performance and reliability.
Minimum hardware requirements for the web interface must support Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and
a resolution of at least 800 x 600 is required.
Safety and security considerations
The websphere application server has a flexible security configuration capability. Firewalls are configured
to allow traffic on the required ports.
Performance
The performance metrics for this system are determined by the Websphere application server. Since the
Websphere application server is designed for scalability and portability, it allows the SimDex PrePay server
to scale easily.
Maintainability
The J2EE environment is a modern and sophisticated enterprise solution, with object-oriented capabilities.
This allows for good maintainability by ensuring a large base of potential developers willing to work on this
platform.
